About the Role
As the Director (m/f/d) Generative AI Innovation, you will spearhead the regional AI innovation agenda, identifying and scaling high-impact generative AI use cases that align with DSE’s strategic goals. You will serve as a trusted partner to business leaders, translating complex opportunities into executable projects that deliver measurable outcomes. Collaborating closely with global teams, you will ensure alignment with enterprise AI principles while tailoring solutions to regional needs.
Your leadership will be pivotal in establishing repeatable processes, reusable assets, and robust governance to accelerate AI adoption. Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting Europe-wide AI/ML priorities and ensuring compliance with Responsible AI standards and evolving regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and prioritize the DSE generative AI innovation pipeline to meet regional business objectives.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to shape, pilot, and scale AI initiatives from concept through sustainable operations.
- Cross-Functional Execution: Coordinate across DSE business functions, global CfGAI, Data/IT, Security, Privacy, Legal, Procurement, and other governance stakeholders to enable timely, scalable, and compliant execution..
- Promote adherence to Responsible AI principles and prepare the organization for regional AI regulatory frameworks.
- Develop operating models, playbooks, templates, and governance checkpoints to enhance speed and quality of delivery.
- Define and track metrics for business impact, adoption, and risk management.
- Communicate progress, risks, and results effectively to senior leadership.
- Lead and mentor a regional team, fostering collaboration across matrixed organizations.
- Dedicate approximately 30% of your capacity to support Europe-wide AI/ML initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, IT, Data Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related fields (Master’s preferred).
- Extensive experience in digital innovation, AI/ML, advanced analytics, or technology-enabled transformation.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional AI projects from conception to value realization.
- Strong ability to engage senior stakeholders and translate business needs into executable roadmaps.
- Experience in highly regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, biotech, or healthcare.
- Expertise in generative AI, enterprise-scale AI solution delivery, and governance.
- Experience leading matrixed teams and influencing across functions and geographies.
- Experience with Responsible AI, regional regulatory considerations, and change management for AI-enabled solutions.
- Ensure initiatives align with Responsible AI principles, privacy/data protection expectations, security requirements, and internal governance standards; help coordinate DSE readiness for regional AI regulatory requirements with relevant partners
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory; proficiency in additional European languages is a plus
