The Position

  • Lead the development and implementation of global digital systems and programs supporting Daiichi Sankyo's global corporate functions, including Legal, Compliance, Human Resources (HR), Digital Transformation (DX) and others, across the US, EU, Japan, and other regions.
  • Drive the technology roadmap for corporate platforms and global business systems, delivering scalable, compliant, and innovative solutions that enable digital transformation and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee budget planning, allocation, and cost management to ensure ROI-driven investments and resource optimization. 
  • Lead global cross functional implementation teams across the U.S., Japan, and Europe, fostering strong collaboration, cultural awareness, and effective coordination across regions.

Roles and Responsibilities

Strategy and Roadmap:

  • Collaborate with global corporate stakeholders to align IT initiatives with business objectives
  • Review demand and cost estimates, prioritize projects, and drive technological roadmaps for corporate platforms and global business systems in support of Daiichi Sankyo's mid- and long-term goals

Global Program Delivery:

  • Assemble and lead application implementation teams, including external vendors, to design, develop, and deploy global and multi-region DS applications using standardized global implementation methodologies
  • Collaborate with Services to ensure smooth transitions from implementation to maintenance
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate technical and operational risks
  • Maintain overall accountability to ensure high-quality project outcomes and optimal use of resources through a consistent global delivery approach

IT Standards and Best Practices:

  • Lead strategic IT transformation projects that drive continuous improvement, optimize business processes, and deliver innovative solutions
  • Provide guidance on non-regulated project management, SDLC practices, and subject matter expertise to Global and Regional IT System Owners (ITSO) to ensure effective, repeatable, compliant, and best-practice-driven application delivery

Financial Oversight:

  • Oversee implementation budget planning, budget allocation, cross-charges, and cost management for digital programs and global business systems initiatives, including change controls
  • Ensure ROI-driven investments, efficient resource utilization, and alignment with enterprise priorities

People Management:

  • Set goals, define objectives, and conduct year-end assessments
  • Manage and mentor a team of IT System Owners (ITSO), on-site and offshore consultants
  • Provide guidance, technical feedback, and foster a collaborative, multicultural work environment

Education & Experience

Education:

  • University degree required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field

Experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience in global application development and implementations in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience working within the framework of SDLC, SIAM, SaaS, PaaS, and ITIL; PMP Certification preferred
  • Proven global people management experience, especially in Japan and other countries, is a must
  • Experience in budget management, vendor negotiations, and ROI-driven technology investments, ensuring cost-effective and sustainable global programs
  • Strong leadership in cross-functional collaboration, working with regional teams, IT, business stakeholders, and external vendors
