Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled CMO Manager (m/f/d) to join our dynamic Europe SCM team. This pivotal role is responsible for managing and overseeing all operational and tactical aspects of contract manufacturing activities with external Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs). You will ensure the seamless coordination between Daiichi Sankyo and our manufacturing partners to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical products that meet regulatory standards and company policies.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage execution and oversight of manufacturing contracts with CMOs in alignment with operational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, timelines, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.
  • Coordinate production planning, scheduling, and tracking via SAP S/4HANA and SAP IBP to align with demand forecasts and supply plans.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with CMOs, leading supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs to uphold global GMP and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to synchronize contract manufacturing schedules within global supply chain strategies.
  • Monitor manufacturing costs, optimize inventory levels, and support financial reconciliation processes.
  • Drive process improvements, digital transformation initiatives, and innovation within contract manufacturing operations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
  • Generate and present data-driven reports on manufacturing performance to management and stakeholders.

Your Profile

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in contract manufacturing management or relevant pharmaceutical supply chain roles.
  • Proven expertise in managing CMOs, supplier relationships, and contract negotiations.
  • Solid knowledge of GMP, quality standards, regulatory compliance, and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA modules related to manufacturing, procurement, quality management, and analytics.
  • Strong vendor performance management, cross-functional collaboration, and negotiation skills.
  • Experienced in production planning, inventory management, global supply coordination, and risk management.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills in English and German.
  • Flexible to work across US and Japan time zones.
