Purpose of the function
The Governmental Affairs and Strategic Partnerships team represents our interests and promotes our goal to become a leading global healthcare company contributing to the sustainable development of society. The Director Governmental Affairs Italy works with the Daiichi Sankyo Leadership Team in Italy and the Head of Governmental Affairs and Strategic Partnerships EUCAN to contribute to shaping the healthcare landscape in Italy. The goal: pave the way for current and future therapeutic innovation to benefit patients and support Daiichi Sankyo in realizing its 2030 vision.
The role informs about developments in policy, makes risks and opportunities visible, and defines, manages, and executes comprehensive stakeholder strategies and their corresponding activities and messaging. One focus is building relationships with key political, societal and industry stakeholders to ensure the DS's priorities are reflected in the healthcare discussion.
Roles and Responsibilities
Supports the execution of the global and regional Governmental Affairs strategies in Italy
Develops and implements the national GA strategy aligned with the local needs of the BUs
Works closely with the Country Manager and other members of the Leadership Team in Italy
Creates stakeholder management programs and drives their activities in Italy
Collaborates at all levels of the organization and drives project implementation and message consistency
Analyzes and actively follows trends and changes in the political and healthcare environment and develops position and messaging papers for countries
Represents the company in external working groups and at events
Supports and prepares DS-representatives’ participation in key events, speeches, including round tables, negotiations, and industry conferences
Leads by example and builds trustful relationships with stakeholders and institutions
Manages external agencies and monitors their performance
Works closely with Market Access, Communications, Medical, and Commercial on interdisciplinary approachesFosters an open and creative information and engagement culture through a coherent approach across the organization
Education & Experience
Education:University Degree Master’s degree in Political Science, European Studies, Public Affairs, Law, Journalism, Economics, or similar Required
Experience: At least 8 years of work experience in a company or institutional PR position in the healthcare sector, preferable in an advanced position
Experience in Oncology and CV would be valuable Experience in working with a diverse set of stakeholders to impact political and policy engagement programs and campaigns
In-depth experience in developing collaborations for roundtables and other events
