Purpose of the function
- Lead the delivery of regional early career recruitment for student and entry-level early career roles, overseeing full life cycle recruiting activities from requisition intake through offer acceptance and pre-hire onboarding handoff.
- Partner with hiring managers, HR business partners, and Talent Acquisition colleagues to translate Student and early career workforce needs into recruiting strategies and hiring plans aligned to program objectives and timelines.
- Lead campus and event-based recruiting activities, university partnerships, and student and early career recruiting campaigns to attract and hire high-potential student and early career talent.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of student and early career recruitment programs by contributing insights from hiring outcomes, talent market trends, and candidate engagement.
- Provide guidance to recruiters and recruiting coordinators supporting student and early career hiring activities to ensure consistent recruiting practices, effective program execution, and strong candidate experiences.
- Scope of role includes a defined region and may expand to additional regions, functional areas, or business units as required to support evolving early careers hiring demand.
Roles and Responsibilities
Regional Student and Early Career Talent Acquisition Leadership
- Lead Regional student and early career talent acquisition delivery, managing hiring for internship, graduate, working student and entry-level early career talent programs across assigned business functions.
- Partner with business leaders and HR stakeholders to forecast student and early career hiring demand and translate workforce needs into recruiting plans and hiring timelines.
- Oversee the planning and execution of the annual regional student and early career talent acquisition strategy, including campus engagement plans, hiring targets, and recruiting timelines.• Monitor recruiting progress against hiring goals and proactively address risks, delays, or changes in hiring demand.
- Provide recruiting insights and activity data to support early career hiring forecasts, workforce planning discussions, and program investment decisions.
Talent Identification and Campus Engagement Strategy
- Develop and execute campus engagement strategies to attract student and early career talent aligned to organizational workforce needs.
- Build and maintain relationships with key universities, faculty, career services offices, and student organizations to strengthen talent pipelines.
- Lead early career recruiting events including career fairs, campus presentations, networking sessions, and virtual engagement activities.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure student and early career recruiting messaging, employer branding, and student communications effectively represent the organization’s employee value proposition.
Candidate Assessment and Hiring Guidance
- Guide hiring managers through student and early career candidate evaluation and selection processes, ensuring consistent and structured assessment practices.
- Conduct candidate screenings and participate in interview processes for key roles to support hiring decisions.
- Facilitate candidate debrief discussions and provide informed recommendations based on candidate potential, competencies, and organizational fit.
- Ensure consistent application of recruiting policies, candidate evaluation frameworks, and equitable hiring practices.
Offer Strategy and Student and Early Career Hiring Outcomes
- Partner with Total Rewards and HR colleagues to support preparation and approval of offers for student and early career hires.
- Advise hiring managers on candidate positioning and offer considerations to support successful hiring outcomes.
- Support candidate engagement throughout the offer process to strengthen acceptance rates and candidate experience.
- Ensure smooth transition of accepted candidates to the pre-hire onboarding team and support delivery of early career onboarding activities.
Program Delivery and Operational Excellence
- Monitor recruiting metrics including hiring progress, program conversion rates, diversity outcomes, and candidate experience.
- Identify opportunities to improve recruiting processes, campus engagement approaches, and student and early career hiring outcomes.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to recruiters and recruiting coordinators supporting early career hiring activities.
- Participate in Talent Acquisition initiatives and projects to strengthen early career recruiting capabilities and program effectiveness.
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred
- 5 or more years of experience in Talent Acquisition ideally within the pharma, biotech or life sciences sectors or alternative relevant experience required
- 3 or more years of experience in:
- Delivering full-cycle early careers recruitment for student, graduate, or entry-level roles
- Managing multiple hiring requisitions simultaneously while maintaining quality, accuracy, and responsiveness
- Conducting structured candidate screenings and interviews to assess experience relevance and role-specific competencies
- Working within an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and related recruiting tools to manage candidate and hiring activity
- Coordinating interviews, candidate communications, and selection activities across multiple stakeholders
- Contributing to the design, coordination, or enhancement of early careers talent programs
- Supporting offer processes, including approvals, candidate communication, and handoff to onboarding teams
