Purpose of the function
As Head of Legal & Compliance Germany, you will be a key member of our leadership team, overseeing the Compliance Program and providing expert legal guidance to ensure all operations align with applicable laws, regulations, and our company’s ethical standards. You will lead and develop the legal and compliance team, contribute strategically to governance and decision-making, and drive initiatives that uphold our commitment to integrity and excellence.
Roles and Responsibilities

- Lead the Legal & Compliance team in Germany, allocating responsibilities and driving priorities aligned with the broader Daiichi Sankyo Europe strategy
- Actively participate in leadership and management committees to ensure sound governance and legal compliance in corporate decisions
- Design, implement, and continuously improve compliance policies, procedures, and training programs, including oversight of Transfer of Value reporting
- Provide trusted legal advice on contractual matters, pricing and reimbursement negotiations, and dispute resolution
- Monitor and ensure adherence to relevant legislation and company policies, proactively addressing risks and compliance gaps
- Collaborate closely with European and global legal and compliance teams to align local practices with international standards
- Support investigations, audits, and corrective actions related to compliance concerns
- Manage reporting activities, including quarterly legal reports and compliance monitoring plans
- Advise on data protection matters in coordination with the EU Legal and Data Protection Officer
Education & Experience

- University degree in Business Law, Law or a closely related legal field
- At least 5 to 8 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry or related sectors
- Proven experience in cross-functional collaboration and team leadership, demonstrating a collaborative, open-minded, flexible, proactive, and motivated leadership style with decisiveness
- Strong personal integrity and ethical standards, with a deep understanding of compliance codes, relevant laws, regulations, and pharmaceutical industry standards
- Trained and experienced in compliance policies, procedures, standards, and obligations
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly communicate and positively influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization and work effectively within a matrix organizational structure
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation and compliance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Strong customer service orientation combined with a solution-focused approach
- Excellent proficiency in both German and English, with strong communication skills essential for everyday business
