Roles and Responsibilities

Application Delivery

  • Development of Mid-term Roadmap: Create mid-term vision and roadmap to develop / deliver the applications necessary for business operations and lifecycle management, developing strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Requirement Definition: Collaborate with relevant departments and stakeholders to lead functional and non-functional requirements definition for the applications to be developed.
  • System Selection: Evaluate system providers and select the optimal solution by supporting the creation of requests for proposal (RFPs) and conducting vendor demonstrations.
  • Architecture Design and Integration: Design the solution and architecture, including integration with peripheral systems, ensuring seamless coordination between systems in very close liaison with Enterprise Architect.
  • Implementation Planning: Develop project schedules and resource plans, outlining a strategy for a smooth implementation process. Support the Project and Portfolio Management function with necessary information while they set up the tracking mechanism.
  • Implementation: Implement the development / delivery of applications to address the business needs and the architecture design.
  • Testing and Training: Conduct system testing and develop / provide training to end-users.
  • Application Deployment and Release Management: Manage the deployment and release of applications into production environments.
  • Security and Compliance: Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to ensure that applications adhere to strict security standards and compliance requirements and implement security measures, considering legal, industry, and regulatory policies, including GxP-related and GDPR requirements.
  • Governance and Compliance: Ensure that the application portfolio is aligned with Daiichi Sankyo’s EA strategy and that the application development process and projects adhere to architectural standards and follow established processes.

Service Management

  • E2E Service Management: Design and operate service management specific to applications in alignment with the Global DX common service management model (E2E responsibility).
  • Management of Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Establish SLAs for applications, ensuring service quality and timeliness.
  • Change Management and Deployment: Manage the change management process involving applications, handling changes related to existing services with the Organizational Change Management and Training function.
  • Configuration Management: Manage system configuration based on the common CMDB operation process.
  • Incident Management and Recovery: Be responsible for managing incidents and facilitating recovery.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Continuously monitor application service performance, identify bottlenecks and issues, and optimize performance to enhance the end-user experience.
  • Service Cost and Resource Management: Manage application service-related costs and resources and cooperate with the Project and Portfolio Management function by providing necessary information, ensuring efficient service delivery that aligns with DX projects.
  • Service Quality Improvement and Customer Satisfaction: Continuously improve service quality and enhance customer satisfaction, gathering feedback and implementing improvement measures.
  • Effectiveness Review: Review and analyze existing applications' effectiveness and efficiency and develop strategies to improve or leverage these systems.

Further Roles and Responsibilities

Vendor Management

  • Support the Vendor Management function (“Commercial Vendor Management”) and Procurement function to interact with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary application services aligned with the direction from the global team, managing relationships with these vendors to ensure smooth operations and support.
  • Control vendor day-to-day performance and the agreed SLAs (“Technical Vendor Management”).

Disaster Recovery and IT-BCP

  • Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for applications, referring to industry best practices.

Employee Management

  • Performance management for direct reports.
  • Development of career opportunities.

Personal Skills and Professional Experience

  • Education: University degree and 7+ years professional experience in enterprise platform operation and/or implementation, or comparable proven expertise required.
  • Experience: Excellent knowledge of ERP solution portfolio and roadmaps.
  • Good knowledge of relevant business processes in the Pharmaceutical Industry.
  • Knowledge of GxP, SOX, and GDPR regulations.
