Purpose of the function
Roles and Responsibilities
ADVOCACY
Support in drafting and updating the European Governmental Affairs Strategy and contribute to its implementation; keep track and proactively follow up when necessary Run own projects as set in the EU GA Strategy to advocate for a policy environment which favours innovation and where necessary build multistakeholder engagement to advance the interests of DSE’s business.
POLICY CONTENT and ANALYSIS
Assist in monitoring key EU legislative dossiers to identify emerging EU regulations and legislation that might impact DS, and ensure internal awareness; draft info emails for the leadership Analyze and actively follow trends and changes in the political environment and support the development of positions; Where necessary, work together with Market Access, Communications, Medical and Commercial on interdisciplinary approaches and alignmentContribute to drafting compelling briefings, speeches, and stakeholder communications.
REPRESENTATION
Interact with European institutions, scientific organisations and stakeholders to ensure that the DS point of view is taken into account Participate in trade association meetings, relevant committees and membership platforms; support workstreams and projects where necessary Support the preparation of the DSE leadership in key European conferences, global settings and high level meetings; draft speeches and brief for any external interactions (meetings, roundtables, negotiations, events).
Education & Experience
Education:
University Degree University degree (e.g. master’s degree in politics, Europe, public affairs, or similar)
Experience:
5 to 8 years A minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in public affairs and advocacy ideally in pharma, NGO or scientific organisation.
Skills and additional Requirements
A good understanding of the EU institutions and legislative processes, and their impact on national health systems.
Experience and/or good understanding of the oncology space or NCDs is advantageous.
Advanced writing skills and an ability to quickly summarise complex issues.
A perfect command of English; your additional languages are an asset.
