Job Summary
The Senior Analyst, Logistics for Import and Export at Daiichi Sankyo Inc, will be responsible for supporting the movement of intermediates, bulk drug substance, bulk drug product, clinical trials, and finished goods within the U.S. and between U.S. and international Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) and supplier sites with a heavy emphasis on cold and frozen transport. This role will involve coordinating with various stakeholders, including suppliers, customs agencies, freight forwarders, and internal teams, to ensure the timely and secure delivery of pharmaceutical goods and materials.
Responsibilities
Logistics Import/Export Management
- Monitoring the import and export process from origin to delivery, including documentation, customs clearance, and transportation of intermediates, bulk drug substance, bulk drug product, and finished goods for both ambient and cold chain pharmaceutical materials.
- Work closely with customs authorities to ensure compliance with import and export regulations and an efficient customs clearance process
- Verification of FDA and HTS codes for Import of Clinical trial materials, including acting as Importer of Record (IOR) and acting as main POC for Project Managers
- Assist in developing, evaluating, and revising logistics policies, procedures, and plans
- Analyze transportation routes, modes of transport, and carrier performance to find the most cost-effective and efficient ways to move goods.
Supplier and Relationship Management
- Collaborate with suppliers, CMOs, carriers/freight forwarders, and origin and destination sites to achieve on-time delivery goals
- Develop and maintain strong relationships and close cooperation with DS functions around the world including the Unites States (American Regent, Inc.), Japan (DSJ / Tokyo), and Germany (DSE / Pfaffenhofen and Munich)
- Participate in monthly Logistics Meetings providing department updates and status of upcoming shipments
Metrics & Risk Mitigation
- Maintaining the shipment dashboard to track key logistics performance indicators (KPIs) including carrier performance and ensuring they meet quality, safety, and security requirements
- Gathering and analyzing logistics data to identify inefficiencies in the supply chain and recommend solutions to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
- Communicating with Supply Chain Planning/Management members any unexpected disruptions in the supply chain to ensure continuity of supply in emergency scenarios.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in pharmaceutical logistics and support SOP development and modifications.

Education Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field required
Experience Qualifications
4 or More Years Transportation, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management, (preferably in the pharmaceutical industry or a cold chain field) required
Knowledge of U.S. and international trade regulations and customs procedures required
Knowledge of SAP ERP or other logistics software systems/platforms preferred
International experience and/or experience working with diverse cultures and global colleagues preferred
Travel Requirements
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. Includes domestic and international travel

Salary Range:
USD$92,160.00 - USD$138,240.00
