Job Summary

This role will contribute to the development and execution of policy strategies in support of enterprise objectives and play an integral role in DSI's increased engagement in public policy and strategic advocacy. Under the direction of the Director of Public Policy, support policy analysis and strategy, engagement with internal and external stakeholders, and development of material for executive leadership. This role will influence the external policy landscape so the value of Daiichi Sankyo's pipeline, portfolio, and business is protected and enhanced – allowing Daiichi Sankyo to continue bringing innovative medicines to patients who need them.

Responsibilities

Policy Development and Analysis
  • Support the Director of Public Policy in communicating and shaping federal policy strategies that may impact the company's pipeline, commercial strategy, and long-term growth.
  • Contribute to the development of policy positions and team strategies (e.g., drug pricing reform, patient access and affordability, etc.) to positively shape or mitigate legislation and regulation
  • Monitor, analyze, and synthesize U.S. federal and state healthcare policy developments and provide strategic recommendations regarding the potential impact to Daiichi Sankyo’s business
Internal and External Engagement
  • Under the direction of the Head of DSI Government Affairs & Public Policy, support the region’s progress towards priorities established with Global Government Affairs
  • Leverage subject matter expertise to assess potential policy implications to Daiichi Sankyo with internal stakeholders (e.g., Market Access, Regulatory Intelligence, etc.), develop DSI policy strategies and shape policy reform
  • Represent DSI in select industry coalitions, trade associations, and stakeholder forums and engage on priority issues
Communication
  • Provide exceptional written and verbal communication skills to translate complex policy developments into clear, actionable insights for internal stakeholders – including executive leadership
  • Serve as a subject matter resource to internal stakeholders on assigned federal policy issues
  • Educate business leaders, in the U.S. and globally, on emerging and ongoing policy reforms
  • Support PhRMA Board Member, as needed in preparation for discussions on key issues

Qualifications

Education Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required

Experience Qualifications
7 or More Years relevant experience required
Experience analyzing and responding to federal legislative and regulatory proposals required
Familiarity with legislative processes and regulatory comment cycles required
Experience working on Medicare Part B / medical benefit drug pricing reform issues preferred
Experience in biopharmaceutical or healthcare industry preferred


Travel Requirements
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time. Travel for conferences and business meetings as necessary

Salary Range:

USD$175,440.00 - USD$263,160.00
